This is one of the rarest Cinematronics games, largely because the monitors had major quality control problems. (See Bill and Zonn's page for more info on this.)
The player has ten buttons -- and you thought Stargate was bad! Thankfully, nine are laid out like a telephone keypad and correspond to squares on the lower grid. One to four suns bounce around; you can catch them by opening a hatch on the grid, or throw out a fireball while the hatch is open to destroy the sun instead. Catch a "flickering" sun for 5 points instead of 1. Reach 100 before the time runs out and get extended play; reach 100 four times and receive an "impressive" graphic effect. I'll wait and judge for myself.
This game's probably notable for the number of options it contains. Players can not only select one to four suns bouncing around, but also remove the grids entirely if they want more challenge. The operator can set the timer to one of four settings, and even select Japanese/English via switch! (Hmm. I'll have to test that one out.)
Enjoy it here, you'll probably never see another.CYBERYOGI =CO= Windler has created two more .ini files for Sundance, one allowing two-player simultaneous play (so THAT'S what that top grid is for!) and the other with a little more color. They are: sundanc2.ini and sundancx.ini.
Interesting tidbit: play sundancx and hit Numpad 4 and Numpad 5 at the same time. Watch the lightshow. This can't be intentional, can it?
