Make yourself at home. When you come in, if you hear a sound like a telephone having a temper tantrum, don't worry. That's just our neighbor, Harry the squirrel, asking why you haven't brought him a peanut butter sandwich. Don't feel bad about not bringing one, though. Harry gets plenty to eat (as you can see from the picture below).
Once you're inside, it will get even noisier since our newest family member is a rescued beagle who can't possibly get enough petting. So prepare to start a long, long belly rub, along with a bit of ear-scratching, and brace yourself for deafening howls if you dare to stop petting. The dog's name is Odie, and he knows how to dance on his hind legs, pirouetting with his nose in the air. In fact, he seems to know how to do everything Charles Schulz's cartoon beagle can do except, so far, write books - but I'm hoping....
