| ARTS AND LITERATURE |
|
I have always had an active interest in the Performing Arts and
Literature, and enjoy Theatre, Cinema Dance and Music. While I enjoy
most kinds of music, my real passion (bordering on obsession) lies in
Classical Music. Most of my attention in this regard is focused on
obscure and rare composers and compositions. Over the years I have come
across many of both, which I in turn share with others whenever I get a
chance. I've compiled a discography
for this Web Site which includes both some of my favourites as well as
some of these rarities. I'm exceedingly grateful to my favourite
radio station, for consistently playing music that is out of
the ordinary.
I am partial to the so-called "Art Film" genre as well as
foreign film. However, I will watch anything that strikes my fancy in
one way or another. Some of the movies I have enjoyed over the years
include, in no particular order: Kenneth Brannagh's Henry V and
Hamlet, Cinema Paradiso, Chocolat, Meeting
Venus, Mephisto, Scent of a Woman, The Lord of the
Rings (all), all of the Pixar films, Looking for Richard
Fritz Lang's M.
Science Fiction may be my favourite genre when it comes to books, but
I'll read anything that interests me. Some of my preferred authors
include Peirs Anthony, Isaac Asimov, Orson Scott Card, Tom Clancy,
Stephen R. Donaldson, Wolfgang Goethe, Stephen Hawking, Carl Sagan and
William Shakespeare.
