Ever since I was little, I have enjoyed travelling. I've been to a
number of countries over the years, including: Australia, Austria,
Bahamas, China, Colombia, Czech Republic, France, Hong-Kong, Hungary,
Netherlands Antilles, Netherlands, New Zealand, Panama, Peru, Thailand,
and the United Kingdom. Pictures from some of these trips may be found
in the Photo
Album section of this site.
But I am not the only one in my family who enjoys travel. My mom and
sister also enjoy going on trips, but theirs are usually more exotic
than mine. In recent years they went on a five week trip to Antarctica
aboard a Russian Icebreaker, a trip to the Kamchatka Peninsula
(Siberia) and most recently to Patagonia, in Argentina.
If there is anything I learned from putting my trips together, it is
that planning a serious trip is not something you do by yourself.
Rather, it is best to work with an experienced Travel Agent. I am most
lucky to have found one that is first-rate, right here in my hometown.
For more exotic trips, it is also useful to work with a Tour Operator
who specializes in the kind of trip you wish to take. Research is
essential, and all aspects should be discussed with the Agent (and
Operator, if applicable) so as to eliminate the chance of a nasty
surprise ruining the trip.
