TAPA
 | Tapa cloth (mahute), made from Mullberry bark, was used
on Easter Island for many items - including clothing and folk crafts. This figure, made of wood, fibre and barkcloth, is painted in designs similar to tattoo patterns. Acquired by the Boston Museum in 1899, the figure is 30.5 cm. in height.
